Kristen has been with Franklin Memorial Hospital since September of 2002. She has been a member of MAHAP since October of 2006 and shortly after joining became Vice President for two terms. In the summer of 2016 Kristen received the Maine Hospital Association Allied Professional Award. In 2017 Kristen became President of MAHAP. She is very excited to be working along-side other great executive assistance to carry on the success of what is now MAHAP.

Karen Quirk, Vice President
Karen has been with Acadia Hospital since January of 2012. She currently supports the Senior Director of Clinical Operations and Clinical Analytics. Karen looks forward to going to work every day in a positive environment that encourages mental, physical and spiritual well-being for patients, employees and visitors alike. Karen proudly subscribes to Acadia Hospital’s mission of empowering people to improve their lives.
Prior to her position at Acadia Hospital she was employed with a local, private non-profit agency serving youth, families and adults affected by mental health, trauma/abuse/neglect, and/or poverty issues. Karen fulfilled a few roles during her 10+ years including, Group Home Counselor, Family Integration Specialist and Administrative Assistant.
Karen attended her first MAHAP conference in the fall of 2012 and immediately recognized the value in making MAHAP a part of her life. She became a member of MAHAP in 2014 and has served on the membership committee and also played a part in getting the MAHAP Messenger up and running. Karen is just entering her first term as Vice President of MAHAP. Karen resides in Hampden with her daughter and also has a son who lives close by. Karen enjoys traveling, photography, reading and is passionate about giving back to her community.

Paula Gagnon has been Executive Assistant at Maine Hospital Association in Augusta since April of 2002. She supports Steven, Michaud, President of MHA, Jeffrey Austin, Vice President of Government Affairs and Communications, David Winslow, Vice President of Financial Policy, Sandra Parker, Vice President and General Counsel and Tammy Butts, Director of Business Development and Administration. Paula joined MAHAP in 2011 and began working on the Membership Committee. Last October Paula was elected as Secretary of MAHAP and assumed her duties in 2014.

Bre Graffam, Parliamentarian
Bre Graffam has been the Senior Executive Assistant at Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital since October 2010. Bre supports Terri Vieira, President of CA Dean, Lorraine Rodgerson, VP of Nursing and Operations and Jennifer Goodrich, VP of Finance. When Bre is not at work she enjoys time with her five year old son, Owen and being outdoors.

For the last five years at MaineGeneral Health (MGH), Jo has served as Administrative Assistant to the Chief Medical Officer, the Administrative Director of Quality, Care Management & Safety and the Administrative Director, Chief Compliance Officer for Ethics & Compliance. Jo also supports the Risk Management, Physician Practices and Volunteer Services departments, as needed, for special projects or during staffing shortages.
Originally from Kentucky (living there and in Southwest Ohio) Jo and her family moved to Maine in 1986. For the 15 years prior to joining the Administration Team at MGH, Jo served as the Executive Director of several small non-profit agencies in Central Maine. She attended the University of Maine at Augusta and earned her BS in Public Administration, followed by an MBA (minor in Human Resources Management) from Thomas College in 2011.
In her time off, Jo loves yard work, gardening, day-trips enjoying the splendor of Maine, skiing, and spending time with her family. She has two brilliant and beautiful, teen-aged "Grand-girls" whom she loves to watch in theater productions and sporting events. When the weather turns rainy and/or cold, you will find Jo indoors with a good book or movie, curled up under a warm blanket and sipping on a cup of hot tea – loving the Maine way of life!

Danielle has been an Executive Assistant at Mid Coast Senior Health Center since August of 2008. Prior to her current role, she worked in the criminal justice and legal fields. She has been a member of MAHAP since October of 2012 and became the co-treasurer in 2016. She graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Danielle lives in Woolwich with her husband and three children. She is actively involved in her local community, especially fire and EMS services, through volunteerism and advocacy.

Julie has been an Administrative Assistant and has for the last two years been a Paralegal/Administrative Assistance for MaineHealth’s legal department for a total of 19 years. Julie supports all 8 attorneys in some capacity including Robert Frank, SVP and General Counsel, and primarily supports the labor attorneys, Nicole Lorenzatti, Labor Counsel and Michelle Bush, Corporate Counsel - Labor. Prior to coming to MaineHealth she worked at Drummond Woodsum for 11 years. In 2014 Julie accepted her first term as “Member at Large” for MAHAP after being a MAHAP member since 2012. Julie enjoys gardening, hikes and time with family and friends. Julie has 2 sons, 22 and 17 and resides in Poland with her husband 17 year old.

Deborah McNally, President Emeritus
A graduate of Husson University, Deb has supported executives in paper manufacturing, communications, education and healthcare. She is currently executive assistant to her third CEO in her 20 year career at New England Rehabilitation Hospital of Portland. Deb is also involved in several hospital committees that promote staff retention and patient satisfaction. She served as President of MAHAP for two terms, following her time as Vice President. In her role as President Emeritus, she hopes to assist MAHAP’s new leadership and continue to have a positive impact on the organization.
Deb currently resides in Portland, and has also lived Texas and Hawaii. She loves to travel. Mother of Meghann, Trevor and Kyle and “Mimi” to Drew, Taylor and Noah, she enjoys spending time with family whenever possible. She loves reading and enjoys dancing, bicycling, bowling, camping, and cooking, as time permits!
